I've been playing with my cuttlebug folders again...

My mum asked me to do some more cards for her friends at work, which are my main customer base! They really like my cuttlebug and pink petticoat combo's so I sat and ploughed a few out last night. Here are a couple of my favorites. I've water coloured them using my Whispers pens which is again another new technique to me!

I think this little owl has got to be one of my favourite pink petticoat images. She's so cute. I've coloured her in using very pastel lime and peach a combination that seems to go together really well.
I really like this snail image too! I've gone for a red and green combination on this one and have embossed using the Perfectly Paisley folder.
I had to do a few with Lola Rose on and I really like this one of her with her shopping bags. I've gone for a red and black colour scheme to this one and have embossed with the Swiss Dots folder.
And the last but not least, a little bumble bee. I've used the stylized flowers embossing folder and have coloured the flowers to match the image. I quite like this card. Yellow is not a colour I use all that often.
And lastly for today, its my sister-in-law, Kirsty's birthday today. Happy Birthday to you! Here are the cards I sent her.
This one is from Adam to send to his Auntie. The spotty paper is pink petticoat as is the shoe image which is from Lola's Boudouir Collection. I like the black and pink combination. The flourishes in the corners are part of my new Basic Grey stamp set which I've fallen in love with!
And this one is from me and my husband. I've gone with a brown and mint theme. The papers and image are agian from Pink Petticoat.

All the coloured cardstock used is Doodlebug Crisscross, I love it, and can't get enough of it! and all the ribbons are from Ribbon Oasis, which reminds me I really must do another order soon!

DoCrafts

What on earth has happened to the Docrafts website? I went on holiday and when I came back it had all changed! I find it really slow and more difficult to navigate now. I used to spend hours ploughing through the gallery. I have to say that since I started my blog I've spent less time on there and more time "blog hopping" but every now and then I'd go on and have a browse and upload some cards. I think I'm going to give up on that now. I've just registered on the Trimcraft website today, so hopefully I'll get on a bit better with that one!

Lorraine's Birthday Blog Candy

Lorraine is offering a yummy lot of blog candy to celebrate her birthday on 29th July. Happy Birthday Lorraine! and oh my word, I've never seen so many entries left on a post before, 172! wow, thats impressive!

What a lovely day!

Good morning everybody, its a beautiful and hot day here again today! Hope you all had a good weekend. I spent the day in the garden on Saturday and had a bbq in the evening and on Sunday I took my little boy Adam to the Jump Up Nickjr event at The Bowl in Milton Keynes. It was really good. All his favorite characters were there, Peppa Pig, Fifi, Diego & Dora and Sportacus. He got a great little goody bag with lots of colouring and activity packs. I think I enjoyed it more than he did though! I've uploaded more pictures into my Pisca public gallery and also some other family pictures.

I've made another card using the stamped images from Gina. I've used the same layout as the one below but this time I've coloured the image in using my chalk inks. It never occurred to me to use them to colour in, but I like the result as it gives a deeper colour than my watercolour pencils. I shall certainly be giving it a go again. The red papers are downloaded free, from Summertime Designs and the green floral paper is by Anna Griffin.

Finally, Its my father-in-laws birthday today and here is the card I made for him. As you've probaly seen I've used this layout a few times lately, and was originally inspired by a card made by Netty on the Docrafts gallery. The picture I've used is actually of my father-in-law racing his motorbike which I thought would be nicer than using a picture of somebody else!

Thats all for now. I'm off to enjoy some sunshine while it lasts!

My First Ever Magnolia Card

First of all I have to say a big Thank You to Gina for sending me a huge bundle of stamped images...and here are my first cards made with them. I don't own many stamps and I often sit enviously looking at everybody else's wonderful creations. The problem is, is that now I want more! I know I can't have any right now, but I have a big birthday coming up in a few months so maybe if I'm patient I will get some then!

The blue and white spotty paper is from Shabby Princess and the floral paper is from a fab site that Stacey mentioned on her blog recently, Summertime Designs where you can download for FREE lots of gorgeous digital scrapbook kits. I spent quite a while downloading them all! I have to say I really like the first card. I really didnt have anything in mind when I was making it, it just came together on its own. I think its a bit different to my usual style, but one that I'm hoping to create more like!

Well this card was a bit more experimental and did not fall into place like the first one did. I coloured the stamp in first and then worked from those colours. The orange floral paper is from Summertime Designs and I've cut round the edge of the flowers before sticking it down onto the green spotty paper which is from the Epsom site. My husband bought me some goodies last weekend which included a clear unmounted stamp set of Flourishes by Basic Grey, which I've stamped and embossed onto the green paper. Ive then torn the corner and backed it with the left over orange paper. All the edges have been inked and so has the flower as it wasn't quite orange enough! I'm not too sure about this card. I think I like it but, Im not sure if I've over experimented with new techniques!

Im Back!

Well I've been absent from the blogging world for a few weeks now. I spent 2 weekends away in the caravan and then the third weekend was for Adam's 2nd Birthday which was actually on the Thursday. We took him to Waddington Airshow as my stepdad loves his planes and so does Adam now! We had a great time and stayed there for 4 days in total. The caravan site was right next to the runway, literally! From there we thought we'd head out to the Lincolnshire coast for a couple of days before returning home on the Friday to get ready for Adams birthday party on the Saturday! I feel like I've just about stopped spinning now. I have to say I seem to have lost my creative spark even with a trip to Hobbycraft and Colemans warehouse, where I bought some delicous goodies. How is it possible to have so much yummy stuff and yet have no idea what to do with it?

I was really please to see that Kerry at Curly Girly Me and Kerry from A Load of Old Pickle had both had awarded me this weblog award. Thank you so much, its a huge honour to receive recognition for my cards especially from two ladies as talented as the Kerry's!

The rules for this award are:

1. The winner can put the logo on their blog.

2. Link the person you received the award from.
