Baby Baby

I bought the latest edition of Quick Cards made easy on Sunday and it came with a free stamp of Beatrix Potters Jemima Puddle Duck. As soon as I saw it I thought "Baby Card" and since my colouring's not up to much I thought I'd keep it simple and just stamp the images in pink and blue. I've gone over the image with my chalks to soften it up a bit and mounted it onto co-ordinating card. The papers are again from the Epsom site. The greeting is printed from the pc and has also been chalked. I've then added a strip of white card embossed with cuttlebugs Swiss Dots, which has also been chalked. I then threaded some ribbon through the buttons to finish.

I think the blue one is my favourite.

I ran out of pink buttons when I got to this card. I've used a die to cut out some buttons on this card but they dont really look like buttons to me! so I just added 3 small pink papermania stones to give it a bit of sparkle.

Hey Hey I Wanna Be A Rockstar!

I've been having a go with the DCWV Rockstar Stack I bought a couple of weeks ago. I absoloutely love this stack as its got some fantastic card in it, some of which is foiled and some is flocked. First up is a card I made for my little boy to give to his Grandad for his birthday as he's a keen guitar player.

The card does most of the work itself so I've just embellished it with some 3mm brown organza ribbon, to give the effect of strings. I've also added 3 small silver brads. The greeting is printed from the pc onto white cardstock using the "Bleeding Cowboys" font, which I've then inked in brown to give it an aged look and mounted onto mirror card to bring out the foil in the card. I saw the shape the greeting is printed on in a magazine a while ago and thought it would be perfect for this card and after much searching I found a template on the internet which I printed off and now use to draw round and cut out.

This is my second attempt with the same stack. This time I've printed the greeting off and coloured it in so it co-ordinates with the colours in the card.

And finally...this one is just made up of the bits I had left over. I cut out the guitar using my ellison die and inked it to make it look a bit grungy!

I'm pleased with how these have turned out as I really struggle with men's cards.

Kerry's Giraffe Doodle

I've been playing this evening and created this card a card using Kerry's Giraffe doodle, which she has very kindly allowed us all to use subject to her copyright. I've coloured him with watercolour pencils, although I admit to not being very good at it!

The backing paper is the giraffe fur paper available to download from here also thanks to Kerry for the link! I've cuttlebug'd some brown card using the Traffic Jam folder and threaded a large wooden button with a old faux suede lace. The leaves are a handmade paper I had in my stash and the brads are by papermania. I've inked all the edges in a brown ink which I think makes it stand out a bit more. I couldnt think of a suitable greeting for this card so thought I'd leave him blank so somebody else can decide what occasion he's for!

Tara's Blog Candy

Blog Candy - Magnolia Stamp

To celebrate a fantastic 20,000 hits on her blog, Tara is offering a lovely Magnolia stamp as Blog Candy. Take a look at her site...she has some gorgeous and very inspiring creations.

This open until Saturday 26 April and a winner will be chosen on Sunday 27 April.

Ooops I've left it a bit late, but this blogging takes up a lot of time!

Anyone for Golf?

My little boy gave me a box for Christmas with a few sticker sets in it....he chose well considering he was only 18 months old at the time and didnt leave my side! Anyway, I thought I'd get a pack out and do something with them and this is what I came up with. The cardstock is Bazzill Crisscross, which I love so much... and the pringle effect paper is from the Epsom site. Ive tried my hand at false stitching on this card to tie in with the stitching on the pringle paper. I think its worked well.

Doodle-icious!

Over the past week my cold has set me back a bit. I have severe lack of Mojo! I have managed though, to get a couple of cards made. I fell in love with the Doodlebug range the first time I saw it, and I bought a lot of it too and these are the first cards I've made with the Party range. I think I like them, but I'm not sure! The cardstock used is also from the Doodlebug range so co-ordinate perfectly. I've inked all the edges in blue/orange to give each of them a bit more definition.

One for the Girls!

And one for the Boys!

Pink Petticoat Blog

Some of you have already e-mailed me but for those of you who don't know, I've had some of my cards featured on the Pink Petticoat Blog! I love Pink Petticoat as you can probably tell from my gallery. I'm not very good at stamping and stamps can be really expensive, although after doing rather a lot of blog hopping lately, I'm tempted by some Magnolia's and Bella's....one day when I can afford it! I only wish there were more masculine themed images, I did e-mail Liz a while ago and ask her to do a boyfriend for Lola!

Anyway if you get time, take a look at the Pink Petticoat blog. There are some fantastic cards featured on there.

Hopefully I'll be able to upload some more cards soon....

Ive Been Tagged!

I've been tagged by Debs from MeandLilG. Its been a while since I was tagged, but I've not been well over the past week so havent done much crafting/blogging. Hopefully I'm back on track now though.

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why?
2. You are spending a whole month on a dessert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?5. What are the last three books that you read?
6. Qvc or create & Craft?
7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?
8. What is your claim to fame?

Here goes...

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why? I’m gonna say Julia Roberts. No deep and meaningful reason why other than I love her films.
2. You are spending a whole month on a dessert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why? Tom Hanks cos he’s an expert when it comes to desert islands! and Anne Robinson because I really cant stand her.
3. What are your three favourite crafting products? Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, Ribbons, Anything Doodlebug!
4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be? When I think of It, I won’t tell a soul and hopefully it will make me some money!
5. What are the last three books that you read? Honestly, the last 3 books I’ve read were read to my little boy and they were, Pingu & His Friends, Seth The Squirrell and The Very Hungry Caterpillar! I’m not a big book lover, I prefer to craft in my spare time!
6. Qvc or create & Craft? QVC
7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV? DCWV
8. What is your claim to fame? When I was on a School Trip many moons ago, I saw the chap who played Nick Cotton in Eastenders. Not really a claim to fame but it’s the best I’ve got so far anyway!

Now I need to pass this on to 5 others...apologies if youve already had it!

Something Simple

I had a card that I'd started a while ago but it went wrong, so I was left with the card blank and just a piece of Doodlebug cardstock mounted on it. I thought it was about time I did something with it, so I came up with this. Something simple. I've embossed the same colour card with Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers and mounted it onto white card and then just tied white organza ribbon in a bow around the centre. I've then added 3 clear adhesive stones to the bottom. I like the simplicity of this card. I wanst sure whether to add a sentiment or just leave it blank.

Retro Men

I dont really enjoy making cards for men, they are so hard to please! I did however buy a few stamps last year that I really like, A Mini and a VW Camper Van, very retro! I've had a go at a couple of cards. The first being the Mini using the papers again downloaded from the Epsom site. I love this brown and blue combination. I think it works really well.

I'm not sure about this next card. I stamped the VW Camper van onto the spotty paper and mounted it onto white card. I've embossed with the Happy Birthday embossing folder and cut it out in the shape of a surf board and mounted both onto co-ordinating Doodlebug cardstock. This card worked really well in my head, but I seemed to struggle transalting it onto paper!

Next is a layout I used for one of my Christmas Cards last year. I have lots of peel offs that need using up so thought this would be an ideal mens card. Ive used the circles embossing folder to tie in with the circle printed paper. I think this paper is from a Making Memories set that I bought when in USA last year. The spotty paper above is from the same set. If you ever go to America or Canada go to Michaels craft store, its the best craft shop I've ever been to!

A Few Cards to Share

Well its been a while since I last posted any cards so I thought I'd better put up a couple that I've been working on over the past week. I didnt realise at the time, but once I'd done this batch I noticed a "Zesty" theme to them. First up is a Pink Petticoat card using the Just for Ewe range. The papers were found on Epsom site thanks to Kerry's link. I think I downloaded just about every paper! The fluffy bits were coloured with a quickie glue pen and then I just embossed with my clear emobssing powder. This is the first time I've used my new set of Nestabilities too. They are a real godsend!

And another variation using the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls embossing folder. The ribbon was one that came free with a magazine a while back.

And the last one of this batch is a Bubbly Lola Rose. The papers are Shabby Princess and the embossing is using the Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug folder. The bubbles are embossed with holographic embossing powder.

I will be adding more cards to my gallery, but may not always post them, especially if I dont think they are quite up to standard!

Bazzill/Doodlebug Trio's Cardstock

I love to use the Doodlebug range of Bazzill Cardstock, the one with the crisscross texture that are sold in Trio's. I always used to buy mine from Crafty Stuff but notice recently they don't have all the colours in stock, I e-mailed to ask them when they expect to have more in to be told that they arent getting more and to go elsewhere. I was a bit annoyed as this was one of the few places that allways seemed to stock all of the colours. I tend to buy the A4 sized sheets as I only use them for cardmaking so far, I'm sure I'll start scrapbooking one of these days! Anyway just wondering if anybody else knows of a good supplier? I think I may try Happy Stampers although they dont stock all the colours I want or even Capture the Magic who sell it in 12x12.

I've been given an award!

I'd like to thank Debbie from Me and Lil G for giving me this award, I'm touched! As I'm fairly new to this blogging, I uderstand that I need to pass the award on to 3 people who's work inspires me. So here goes.

The first has to be you Debbie at MeandLilG
Secondly Jo King at OnlyJoking
and thirdly Nicola Bray at My Paper World

I have about 15 blogs in my favourites list that I visit daily! All of which are worthy of this award and I have to say I dont think there are any of you who don't already have it.
