My Baby is nearly 2!

This card is for my baby, he'll be 2 on 3rd July! I can't beleive he's grown up so fast ;-( He loves Dora the Explorer, Diego and Roary the Racing Car! I was going to make a Roary card like I made for my friends little boy a while back but decided to go for Diego instead! I think I will do him a little Diego themed birthday party too.

I wanted to make it a bit special so I've made this card 8" x 8" square. I've had to make a spine to stick the two pieces of card to as the largest card I have is about A4. Only problem is I dont have an envelope to fit it! I'll have to have a look on ebay or make one myself. The Diego picture is actually recyled from one of his easter egg boxes. All of the cardstock is Doodlebug crisscross. I've got my sizzix alphabet out and cut out his name and the number and then I've layered them onto another blue card and cut round them individually, it was fiddly and took a while but he's worth it! I downloaded the little animals from the internet and stuck them into the letters. I really like this card and I'm sure he'll love it.

I think I need a rest now!

Cuddly Buddly Cuties

Well more for men again I'm afraid! I thought I'd make a couple of cards to take to my local mums and tots group I take my little boy to. I dont normally sell my cards to anybody other than family and close friends and that keeps me busy enough! So I'm a bit nervous about taking them along. I thought I would use the Cuddly Buddly images I downloaded a long time ago now. I've cut out the men and stuck them on with foam pads as is the sentiment. I created the background paper myself using another cuddly buddly image and found the sandy/gravel paper online. I've inked the edges to make them stand out a bit more.

Cutting out the men was a bit fiddly and made my fingers hurt! as I've done about 5 different variations of this card. Hopefully I'll be able to sell them all now though!

More Men!

I'm getting fed up with all these masculine cards at the moment. Fathers Day, Birthday's! It must be time for some womens birthdays soon!

First up is a card I made for my stepdad. He is into his photography and we managed to get this photo of him taking a picture when we were out for a walk recently so I thought it would be an ideal picture to use for his card. I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo but we have greyscaled the image, but my stepdad is actually in colour. I've made the camera using my own template but got the idea from one of the sizzix dies. Not sure the camera and the picture really go together but hey its done now and I'm sure he'll like it as its from his grandson! I downloaded the film strip from the internet and cut out the white sections to fit over the photo.

Next up is another card for my stepdad, but this time its for my mum to give to him. He loves his aeroplanes as well as photography. I was really stuck for this card until I was browsing through the Docrafts site and came across a card that Netty had made. She very kindly let me borrow her idea, which I've adapted slightly. I think the small colour picture works really well with the larger greyscaled image and i've printed it onto the white doodlebug crisscross card which makes it look like its printed on canvas! an unexpected result but a good one!

And finally, this is for the same lady who asked for the triathlon card the other week. Its very similar in that she asked me to make a card to include hiking, cannoeing and camping! well there is only so much you can do withouth going out and spending a fortune on stamps, so I've gone with the road sign idea again. I think its turned out ok?

Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Rum!

I decided to make this card after reading an issue of papercraft inspirations. Jo Kill did a few pirate toppers/cards and I really liked the cheeky pirate so thought I'd have a go. Ive just used a circle punch to cut out the face and pieced all the card together. No edge has been left un-inked! I printed the sentiment and the ship from the pc on to red doodlebug crisscross cardstock. I downloaded the treasure map from the internet and screwed it up and inked it to give it an aged look-ish! and to finish I've used a big silver button from my button stash.

Dude!

Last but by no means least here is what I've come up with using Kerry's Cool Dude doodle. I've done a couple of versions which were inspired by the Kirsty Wiessman papers I downloaded. If you haven't seen her site before take a look, she has some fantastic freebie papers and kits.

I think the top one is my favorite apart from the colouring! I coloured him using my Wispers pens but I think I prefer the watercoloured look like the one below, although I'm not very good at using them yet. I need some more practice. I created the sentiment myself on the pc as I never seem to have what I want.

Thanks Kerry for your generosity!

I can't wait to get my hands on a set of your stamps but I've been told I have to wait til the end of the month!

Dads!

Well the next lot of cards were made with Fathers Day in mind. I have got both Dads to make cards for and one for my little boy to give to his Daddy, plus both of our Dad's Birthdays are coming up too! Its a busy time of year for me! I was browsing the Docrafts site the other day and saw the idea of the Tag Card and thought I'd have a go.

The papers on this card are a kit from Shabby Princess called Blueberry Cobbler.

I thought I'd try out a different colour scheme on this one and have used the Modish Girl range again from Shabby Princess.

I've been thinking about having a go at this card for some time now as I bought the dies to cut out the tools ages ago and I think I've only made one or two cards with them. I drew the template for the apron myself and inked the edges to give it a dirty look. I've inked some chipboard letters to co-ordinate and attached them to the pocket, which has been stuck down with foam pads. I think the brown and striped papers are from a Making Memories kit I bought in America last year. The tape measure is part of a scrapbook page I also got in America.

Welly wanger! I thought this one would be a bit of fun. One of the Docrafts ladies very kindly sent me a template for the welly boot some time ago but this is the first time I've ever used it. I might use these cards for my little boy to give to his Grandad's.

More Baby Cards

Well yet another week has passed and I have to say this week I was hit with a bolt of inspiration, I have no idea where it came from so I thought I'd take advantage before it goes again! Here are a couple of baby cards I started a while ago but never got round to finishing. The paper is from the Epsom site. I drew the little vest myself and kept a template so whenever I need one I just cut one out. A lot cheaper than buying the dies. I've cut out a little pocket and stuck it on with a foam pad and then just added a little heart diamonte to finish.

One for a girl...

...and one for a boy!

A bit of a challenge

I do like a challenge every now and then and was recently asked to make a card for a lady who loves to take part in Triathlons. I reluctantly accepted but had no idea where to start so I just did a Google Image search for Triathlon and that gave me the idea to use the road sign style for the images. I struggle with sentiments so decided to make some of my own on the pc and have used my punch to cut it out and then inked the edges. I wanted to keep it quite girly so I picked the gorgeous dotty paper (Epsom) and worked from those colours. I think its turned out quite well and I'm sure she wont get any others like it!

The same lady then asked me to do a card for a couple who are celebrating their Ruby Wedding Anniversary and wanted something to do with caravans...luckily I have just bought this stamp by Paper Nation and this is my first go with it.

I was just having a look through my box of cards and there were a couple more I found that I hadnt quite finished but I noticed I hadn't uploaded any pics of them yet. These were really quick and simple to make but I really like them. I think the layout is really effective. I created the sentiment myself on the pc.

I think this is my favourite one. I love the swiss dots embossing folder. I've used bazzill criss cross card stock and have just inked the edges and embossed with hollographic powder to give it a little sparkle.

The papers used on this one are from Shabby Princess.

I love the colour of this card. Its from the Swimming Pool Trio. Again I've embossed the card this time with the Textile folder.

And last but not least is a little blue number which has been embossed with the Perfectly Paisley embossing folder.

I think that'll do for today! I'm off to get ready now as I'm taking my little boy to play at the Wacky Warehouse today, I did have other plans but this rain has put a stop to them! Bring back the sunshine...please
